Dr. Stephanie Wells (she/her) is a psychologist living in Durham, North Carolina. She is passionate about helping people live a life that is meaningful to them and aims to empower people to meet their goals.

She primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and related approaches, which helps people understand how their emotions, thoughts, physical sensations and behaviors affect each other.

Her experience includes:

  • Completion of the APA accredited Ph.D. program in Psychology at the San Diego State University/University of California San Diego's joint doctoral program
  • Completion of an APA accredited internship at the Durham Veteran Affairs Medical Center (training emphasis included substance use treatment, PTSD and hospice/palliative care)
  • Providing trauma treatment through Duke Medical center
  • Post-doctoral fellowship at the Durham Veteran Affairs Medical Center at the Traumatic Stress & Health Research Lab
  • Working in a mood disorders clinic

In her free time she enjoys:

  • Paddle-boarding
  • Being at the beach
